The Maevens: Bio

The Maevens are a folk rock band that met in 2004. Members Kelly Burrows, Graydon James, Jason Lapidus and Myke Mazzei have been making a name for themselves in Toronto's folk music scene, playing such venues as The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern, The Rivoli and the Cameron House. The Maevens keep their audiences guessing with songs that range from introspective and sultry, to imaginative and quirky and back again. Influenced by musicians such as Sarah Harmer, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, acoustic Neil Young and Coldplay. The Maevens' style is at once relaxed and intense, inviting their audiences to take a ride with them, guided by Burrows' melodic tones.

5-song EP Halfway Again (2005) and 6-song EP Dangerous Place (2006) have already sold out. Their newest EP's Ragamuffin (2007) and The Horseshoe/Cottage Versions have made fans want more. And that is just what they will get! A new album should be available late 2009/early 2010 - keep your eye out for this full length bundle of some of The Maevens' best tunes.

More shows are always in the works, so check back often to find out when you can catch them live.

Their chemistry is undeniable and the result is music that resonates with a wide range of listeners.
